Peter Ward has grown with the Australian construction industry. He began as an Apprentice Carpenter in 1981 and through hard work, aptitude and an ability to control all aspects of construction, now manages the Queensland Region for Lend Lease. Peter was appointed General Manager Qld, NT & Pacific in July 2008. Prior to this appointment, Peter was the Operations Manager for the Southern Region responsible for the effective delivery of all Construction activities and performance of the Business within Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. As the senior Operations Manager in the Australian business, Peter was also responsible for the leadership of all Operations Mangers and their Peer Group. Peter as part of the Senior Leadership Team in Victoria saw the transition from a solid $ 350m annual turnover business in 2006 /07 to a projected turnover secured at $ 1bn turnover in 2009/ 10. Throughout this growth the business strengthened their delivery skill set and resources within the region. Under Peter’s leadership Lend Lease’s Project Management & Design business in Queensland is consistently delivering on timely, profitable, quality projects while at the same time dramatically reducing incidents rates to some of the lowest in the industry. Safety continues to be Peter’s number 1 driver.
